Nancy Ethel Hinders-Sanders, 82, of Forest, IN, passed away on Friday, November 26, 2021 at IU Health in Avon. She was born to the late Benjamin Alvin Hogan and Dorothy Gladys Grider Hogan on November 4, 1939 in Cincinnati, OH. She married William Earl Hinders December 11, 1959 in . They were married for 36 years before his passing in 1995.

Nancy married again, in 2007 to Charles Sanders. He is how Nancy came to enjoy strength sports. She was a member of the Natural Athlete Strength Association where she held State and National records in power lifting and power sports. She competed in several Senior Olympic games and played softball in her earlier years. Nancy enjoyed sewing, gardening, shopping and her snacks! She was a three time cancer survivor, first being diagnosed in 1974. She also enjoyed playing games, such as bingo, dominoes and playing poker. Nancy was a member of Kirklin Assembly of God for many years.

Surviving her are three daughters, Teresa McCarter (James), Darlene Hinders (Baker), Marlene Martinez (Antonio); two sons, William Hinders (Robin) and Michael Hinders (Beverly); 12 grandchildren, Alan Hinders (Autumn), Stephanie Barker (Jared), Seth Kirkendall, Brant Clark (fiancé Kari), Jaime McCarter (fiancé Brian), Erica Riley (Chase), Emily Bilyeu (Levi), Donovan Martinez (Hannah), Holly Hinders, Noelle Clark (Genin), Uriah Martinez (Kasey), and Elizabeth Castello, 24 great grandchildren; sister, Vickie Wilson; sister in law, Eva Shaffer; and several loving extended family members.

Preceding her in death is her parents, the father of her children, William Hinders; husband Charles Sanders; and brothers, Alvin and Jeff Hogan.

A gathering of friends and family will take place Thursday, December 2, 2021 at Ellers Mortuary & Cremation Center Webster Chapel from 10am to noon. A funeral service will begin at 12pm following the visitation. Burial will follow at North Union cemetery.
