Roy Anderson Dayton, TN Roy Leland Anderson, age 83, of Dayton died Monday, December 10, 2007 at Spring City Health Care Center. He was born October 15, 1924 in Owen, Wisconsin, the son of the late Roy and Irene (Hurley) Anderson. He was also preceded in death by a son, Douglas Anderson, a daughter, Kathryn Weister, brothers, Leonard Anderson and Delmer Anderson, sisters Vivian Ford and Doris Baxter. Roy served his country during World War II in the South Pacific with the U.S. Navy. Roy was an engineer for the railroad for 15 years and was also a carpenter. He has lived in Dayton since 1978, moving here from Wisconsin, and was a member of the New Bethel United Methodist Church. Roy is survived by his wife of 60 years, Eileen (Martin) Anderson, sons, Donald C. (Dorothy) Anderson of Dayton and Terry L. Anderson of Madison, WI, brothers, Bob Anderson of Sturgis, SD, Darryl Anderson of Oregon City, OR, and Laurie Anderson of Oakdale, MN, one sister Ethel Ruggles of Columbus MS, granddaughters Allison (Dale)Bowman and Amanda Anderson and great-granddaughter Megan Bowman, all of Dayton. Funeral services for Roy will be held Wednesday at 2:00 pm in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Billy "Donnie" Clayton and Rev. Paul Miracle officiating. Burial with full military honors will be in Spence Cemetery followed by a white dove release. The family is being served by Vanderwall Funeral Home in Dayton where they will receive friends Tuesday from 3:00 – 8:00 pm.
