Funeral services for James Conley will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Wednesday, December 1, 2021 at The Price-McElroy Funeral Home in Kenton with Pastor Randy Manns officiating. Burial will follow at Grove Cemetery. Friends and family may visit 1 hour prior to services at the funeral home.
James died on Wednesday, November 24, 2021 at Kenton Nursing and Rehab. He was born on March 16, 1937 in Painesville, Kentucky to the late Adam and Margaret (Bailey) Conley. On January 12, 1957 he married Barbara Baum and she preceded him in death on December 26, 2014.
Surviving are a daughter; Terry Conley of Kenton, 3 sons; Jim (Gail) Conley of Kenton, Mark (Donna) Conley of Alger, Tim (Gina) Conley of London, 8 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great-grandchildren, a special friend; Sandy Fink and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a son; Steven Conley, 2 brothers; Lloyd Conley, Troy Conley, 2 sisters; Poplee Fultz, Ollie Spencer, 2 half siblings; Goldie Ferkins, Sam Howard, an infant granddaughter; Amanda Conley, and a great-granddaughter; Cailee Conley.
James started his working career as a mechanic for Bob Reagle Ford and a beer distributor. He then worked for the City of Kenton, taking care of the local parks.
James was a car fanatic, especially when it came to Fords. He enjoyed going to classic car shows, working on cars and anything else he could get his hands on. If he wasn't wrenching, James enjoyed going to auctions and watching OSU Football and Basketball.
Memorial donations in James's honor may be made to the New Hope Church in Kenton.
