Deirdre "Dee" Ann Hall, age 56 of Trufant passed away at her home Thursday, November 25, 2021, with her loving husband at her side. She was born in St. Clair on January 27, 1965 the daughter of Robert and Joanne (Jernstadt) Hanson.

During high school Dee worked part time as an office and clinical assistant for Dr. Edward Lepley DVM in his clinic in Rogers Heights MI. She also worked for MichCon Gas Company in their Summer Help Program for three seasons. Dee graduated from Morley-Stanwood high school as Valedictorian.

After high school, Dee attended Michigan State University College of Veterinary Medicine earning her Doctorate. She began her working career in Kent County caring for all types of small and exotic pets.

Dee married Ken Hall in 2001 and they moved north where she opened her own practice nearly fifteen years ago. She later purchased the Lepley Vet Clinic in Howard City.

Dee was one of the first in this part of the state to handle and train registered Belgian Malinois. She bought her first female Malinois after graduating from college, which she trained in French Ring Sports, placing second in the National Championships. She later traveled to France and brought home a Malinois male which she also trained in French Ring Sport.

Dee was the first Certified Female Dog Protection Training Decoy in the country.

Her love of animals extended beyond her Veterinary practice and farm, to AKC registered shepherds. Dee was passionate about breeding top of the line Shepherds. Her litters were highly sought after and usually sold before they were even born.

She is survived by her husband, Ken Hall; her sister, Kirstin (Steve) Sims of Big Rapids; father, Robert (Sharon) Hanson of Twin Lakes; uncles, Arthur (Sue) Jernstadt, and Ronald Jernstadt, both of Grand Rapids; aunt, Julie (Jack) Hoisington of Morley; and many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Dee was preceded in death by her mother, Joanne.
