William "Bill" James Wolford, age 64, of Columbus, OH peacefully departed Saturday, November 6, 2021. Born on December 6, 1956 in Poland, Ohio to Norman B. Wolford and Alice (McPhillips) Wolford. Bill was a 1975 graduate of Upper Arlington High School where he was an outstanding football and lacrosse player. He graduated from The Ohio State University in 1980 with a B.S. in Education, where he played on the men's Varsity Lacrosse team. He later completed his M.A. in Education at Otterbein University. Bill was employed by Worthington City Schools and spent 40 years at Worthington Hills Elementary as a passionate teacher and permanent substitute teacher. He loved his students and the entire teaching process. Bill coached various athletic teams in the district including freshman football at Worthington and Kilbourne High Schools, girls basketball at Perry Middle School, boys('92-'06) and girls('07-'21) lacrosse at Worthington Kilbourne High School. With great love and passion for the game, Bill coached the U19 Korean team in 2002 and the professional team, the MLL's, Ohio Machine. Bill also officiated high school and collegiate men's lacrosse. In 2015 he was inducted into the Ohio Lacrosse Hall of Fame. Bill was instrumental in growing the sport of lacrosse in Central Ohio, and the Midwest. Bill is survived by his loving wife, of 37 years, Sue (Walters) Wolford (Worthington, OH); children, Andrew (Austin Speed) Wolford (Louisville, KY), Margaret Wolford (Georgetown, KY) and Jackie Wolford (Worthington, OH). Siblings, Jayne, Susan, Dan (Jane) (Longmont, CO), Ann Connors (Kevin) (Arlington, VA), Ted, John (Colleen)(Evans, GA) and Kate Wolford. Inlaws, Stephanie (Walters) Miller (Craig) (Collierville,TN), Scott Walters, Steve Walters (Barb) (Charleston, SC), Sam Walters and Stacey Walters (Duck, NC). Numerous cousins, nieces,and nephews. Loyal and loving dog, Winnie.
