Donald Franklin Phillips, 92, died November 20, 2021, at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center. He was born June 20, 1929, in Hutchinson, to Benjamin Franklin and Jessie Marie (Benson) Phillips.

Donald graduated from Hutchinson High School. He worked for Earl Kirk Chrysler Plymouth, before retiring as the bus service supervisor for USD 309. Donald enjoyed photography, stained glass, and woodworking. He was a member of the Hutchinson Evening Kiwanis Club and Kansas Central Model Railroaders and a lifetime member of Mitchell Chapel United Methodist Church.

On December 23, 1948, he married Doris L. Martin, in Nickerson. She died July 21, 2012, after sharing 64 years of marriage.

Donald is survived by: daughter, Beverly "BK" Baker of Inman; granddaughter, Sarah Meinhardt of Tucson, AZ; grandchildren, Darrel, Brandon, and Dylan; and sister, Mary Holmbeck (Glenn).

He was preceded in death by: his parents; daughter, Cheryl Hainkel; great-granddaughter, Shania Elizabeth Baker; and brothers, Richard and Harold Phillips.

Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 1, 2021, at Elliott Chapel. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery, Hutchinson. Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 30, 2021, with the family present from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Elliott Mortuary.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Donald Phillips Memorial Fund, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
