Marilyn J. Evans, 93, of Girard, died at 5:30 p.m., Thursday, November 25, 2021 in the WestRidge Retirement Community in Girard.
Marilyn was born November 5, 1928 in Girard, a daughter of Albert and Lottie (Janssen) Kirkpatrick. She grew up and attended schools in Girard and graduated from Girard High School.
Marilyn married Kenneth L. "Ken" Evans in November of 1947 in Girard. They divorced and Kenneth preceded her in death on June 4, 2016.
Marilyn worked as a hostess at the Alameda Plaza in Kansas City, Missouri and later as an apartment manager at Pinebrook in Overland Park, Kansas.
Marilyn was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Girard and she enjoyed her family and especially her grandchildren.
Survivors are a daughter, and her husband, her daughter-in-law, her grandchildren, her great-grandchildren, her special nieces and nephew.
Marilyn was preceded in death by her son, Greg Evans, April 13, 2010; her sisters, Marjorie J. Vietti and Charlotte Kirkpatrick.
Graveside services will be at 11:00 a.m., Monday at the Girard Cemetery. Burial will follow the services.
