Leah Angeline Barten, 27, of Anchorage, Alaska, died Friday, November 12, 2021, in Anchorage.

Leah was born August 10, 1994, in Iowa City, Iowa, to Lon Barten and Yvette Tucker. She grew up in Clinton, Iowa.

After the death of her mother, Leah lived with her aunt, Dawn Tashiro, in California.

She later moved to Alaska where she attended the Alaska Military Youth Academy in Anchorage, and lived with her foster mother, Donna Kotaska.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Yvette; paternal grandmother, Ruth Barten; maternal grandmother, Charlene (Warrington) Mattern and her husband, William Mattern; maternal grandfather, Mose "Bruta" Tucker; aunt, Lynelle (Tucker) Ferrier; aunt, Sally Atwater, and Uncle, Lee Barten; and other extended family.

The family will receive relatives and friends at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Charlotte, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:45 a.m. Tuesday, November 30, 2021. A Service of Christian Burial will follow at 12:00 noon in the church. Burial will be at Rossiter Cemetery, Charlotte.
