James Marvin Chance, age 88, resident of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma went to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday afternoon, November 19, 2021 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Marvin was born on January 11, 1933 in Haskell, Oklahoma and was the son of James Melvin and Obie Edna (Martin) Chance. Marvin married the love of his life, Wilma Pearl Bates on December 8, 1951 in Coweta, Oklahoma. He was a welder for 30 years and retired in 2000. After retiring, Marvin farmed for several years. He was a member of the Thomas Community Church in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. Marvin enjoyed spending time with his family, gardening, and hunting in his earlier years.

Marvin was preceded in death by his wife, Wilma Pearl Chance; his parents, James Melvin and Obie Edna Chance; and his sister, Helen.

Visitation will be from 12:00 PM – 7:00 PM on Tuesday, November 23, 2021 with the family present from 5:00 – 7:00 PM at Brown Funeral Home in Coweta, Oklahoma. Services celebrating Marvin's life will be at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, November 24, 2021 at Thomas Community Church in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma with Pastor Don Couch officiating. Marvin will be laid to rest at Vernon Cemetery in Coweta, Oklahoma.
