Sarah Virginia Harris Duffield, age 84 years, three months, and 13 days. died at her home on Long Run near Canfield, W. Va.

She was born in Patrick County, Va., in 1860 and moved to West Virginia with her parents Mr. and Mrs. W. T. Harris, at the age of 11 years and was married to A. L. Duffield, about 1880. To this union was born five children, namely; Mrs. Bettie Jackson, of Fisher, W. Va.; Mrs. Hattie Sutton, of Richwood; Ed, Emmett, and Hugh Duffield, all of Canfield W. Va., three brothers, George, James, and Joseph Harris, all of Bays, W. Va. , nine grandchildren, Carl Jackson, of Tesla; Hyer Sutton, of Richwood; Pvt. Cecil Jackson, stationed in England; Pvt, Lloyd Jackson, stationed at Camp Lee, Va.; Mrs. Nora Ross, of Richwood; Everett Duffield, Akron, Ohio; Miss Virginia Duffield, Baltimore, Md.; Miss Ellagene Duffield, of Fairmont; Robert Duffield of Canfield.

Nine great-grandchildren also survive; Dortha Jane, Barbara Lee, and Patricia June Sutton, all of Richwood; Daza Lee, Lo Ann Jackson of Tesla; Bettie Ann, James Ellis Ross of Richwood.

Funeral services were held at her home on Saturday, August 19, 1944
