Rosemary Ann Post, 84, of Baldwinsville passed away 12:30 PM Saturday, November 20, 2021 at St. Luke's Health Center's Palliative Care in Oswego, NY after a courageous battle with stage 4 pancreatic cancer. The care she received at St. Luke's was outstanding. Rosemary was a lovely lady with a gentle, friendly personality. Everyone who met her, liked her. Those close to her will miss her dearly. Rosemary was born May 21, 1937 to Michael and Mary (Ewerth) Prall in Fulton, NY. She graduated from Fulton High School in 1955 where she ranked fourth academically in her class. History was her favorite subject. She earned an Associate Degree from Onondaga Community College and a Bachelor's Degree from Empire College. Rosemary spent most of her working career as a secretary, eight years as executive secretary to the President of Morris Pumps in Baldwinsville, and twenty-seven years as secretary and administrator at General Electric in Syracuse. She often said her most enjoyable work was as the secretary for managers of engineering groups. She must have liked engineers in as much as she married an engineer. On June 12, 1982, Rosemary Ann Prall and Edwin Lewis Post, her very best friend over the previous seven years, were married in St. Paul's Lutheran Church by long-term Pastor Dr. Walter Kopp. Over the following almost forty years of marriage, Rosemary's and Ed's mutual respect, love and support for each other remained strong and actually grew stronger as time progressed. It was a wonderful and fulfilling life for both Rosemary and Ed. Rosemary liked antiques, Early American furniture, doing crossword puzzles, reading, and taking long walks. In the autumn seasons, Rosemary and Ed enjoyed their times spent at the Hedges on Blue Mountain Lake (Adirondacks) and trips to the Maine coast and Vermont's Green Mountains with stays at their favorite Country Inns. In the spring seasons, they went to Litchfield Beach and Brookgreen Gardens in South Carolina. In summer and winter, they attended many interesting Road Scholar (Elderhostel) programs offered around the United States. Their great joy was being together and sharing life's adventures. In her retirement years, Rosemary engaged in her passion of writing. She joined the local chapter of Romance Writers and enjoyed the comradery and wisdom offered by the other writers. She wrote a number of short stories, three of which were published in magazines. She also submitted a story to the Writer's Digest Short Story Competition and was awarded fifteenth place out of some 16 thousand submittals. Her short story was one of twenty-five published in the Writer's Digest Book. Rosemary had a strong Christian Faith and belief in God. She set aside time every day to read scripture and pray. She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Liverpool and was proud of having been both baptized and married in St. Paul's. She participated in the Book Club, Women of the Evangelical Lutheran Churches, the Seniors group, the Prayer Chain, the Christmas decorating team, and regularly attended Sunday worship services with Ed before COVID. For over ten years Rosemary served as "The Steeple Light" monthly newsletter Editor for St. Paul's. For the 150th Anniversary of St. Paul's founding, Rosemary wrote a lengthy document tracing the history of St. Paul's over the 150 years since its founding as well as composing a Hymn honoring St. Paul's 150th Anniversary. Rosemary was predeceased by her parents Michael and Mary Prall, her brother, Frederick Prall, and his wife, Betty Prall. Rosemary is survived by her loving husband Ed, and her three loving nieces, Cheryl (Michael) Lunte of Vero Beach, Florida, Laurie Prall of Fulton, Jane Prall of Fulton, and great-nieces, Sara and Shelby, and great-nephew, Jason. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, November 30, 2021 from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm at the Maurer Funeral Home Moyers Corners, 3541 State Rt 31 Baldwinsville. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 pm at the funeral home. Spring interment will take place in Jacksonville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Rosemary's memory to St. Paul's Lutheran Church Memorial Fund, 210 Hazel Street, Liverpool, NY 13088, or to the Central New York Chapter, National Railway Historical Society, CNYNRHS, PO Box 229, Marcellus, NY 13108-0229.
