Our hearts are deeply saddened at the passing of our loved one, Carrie Mae Moses, but we humbly submit ourselves to the will of God, who doeth all things well. Carrie, affectionately known as "Donna" was born on September 18, 1948 in Florence, South Carolina to the late Lemuel Hunter and Thelma Hunter Charles. She gave her life to Christ at a young age when she joined Majority Baptist Church. She was educated in Florence Public Schools. Carrie was married Jimmie Moses on May 23, 1964 and together they relocated from Florence to Philadelphia, PA in the mid-1960s. Her education continued in Philadelphia where she earned a nursing degree. During her 22 years in Philadelphia and later in Columbia, Donna worked in retail, as a caregiver, and frequently volunteered as a poll worker during elections.

Donna's greatest joy came from traveling and dining out with her children and siblings. During the summer, her home was a vacation spot for her nephews, college students and southern cousins. On weekends, you could find Donna enjoying life with friends who were more like family (Anne Burgess, Reba Fraction and Edna Lorton); traveling with her children to places up and down the east coast, creating unforgettable experiences and memories. She loved her family and adored her grandchildren. She never failed to encourage them, share kind words, and give them all something special to let them know how much she cherished each of them. Her loving and giving spirit led many to call her "Mom".
