Jim entered into rest peacefully at his home on November 26, 2021.
He was born in Rabbittown and was a graduate of White Plains High School Class of 1962. He is preceded in death by his daughter, Kimberli Coleman; his siblings: Johnny, Jerry, and Joe Coleman; and his parents Virginia (Kemp) and Elbert "Jack" Coleman. He is survived by his daughter, Melody Coleman Lloyd of Piedmont; his two granddaughters, Kelsea (Brian) Owens of Jacksonville and Kassie Lloyd of Anniston; his sister, Jackie (Benn) Lett of Hokes Bluff; and several nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his "special" friend and caregiver, Joan Swafford of Anniston.
He is a retiree of Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company. He was the owner and operator of Ideal Flower Shop and Coleman Greenhouses established in 1972 in Piedmont and many roadside plant and vegetables markets. He loved his Lord and Savior and loved the beauty of nature. He had a green thumb that gave him the ability to grow the most beautiful plants fruit, and vegetables. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing and Auburn football. Flowers may be sent or memorial contributions may be made to Rabbittown Baptist Church, 2450 Rabbittown Road, Piedmont, AL 36272.
