Mr. Richmond Carter Jr., 72, passed from death unto life, Tuesday November 23, 2021 at the Quailty Center for Rehab and Healing in Lebanon, Tennessee.

He was born in Murfreesboro, Tennessee on February 15, 1949 to Arthur Richmond Carter and Agnes Grace Lowe Carter who preceded him in death along with his sons, Brian Hylan Carter and Richmond Dwayne Carter; brother, Lester Carter; step-father, James Lovvorn Sr.; stepsister, Linda Macadoo; stepbrother, James Lovvorn Jr.; half-brother, Larry Lovvorn.

He was a US Army veteran and worked as a welder at Nissan.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Geraldine Hackworth Carter; daughter, Melissa Ann (Juan) Sauceda; grandson, William Gabriel Cooke; granddaughter, Rachel Elizabeth Cooke; sister, Judy (Royce) Gienger; stepbrother, William (Carolyn) Lovvorn; stepsister, Patsy (Hylan) Alsup; half-brother, Randal Lovvorn; many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held 2:00 PM Thursday December 2, 2021 in the funeral home chapel with Minister Charlie Gipson officiating with Military Honors.

Visitation: 12:00 Noon – 2:00 PM Thursday at Layne Funeral Home, Palmer, Tennessee.
