C. L. Allman departed this life on September 13, 1933, after a life of useful service. Bro. Allman was born in Murphree's Valley, September 10, 1869. While he was yet young his parents moved to St. Clair County near Ashville. At the age of eighteen he united with the Reeves Grove Mssionary Baptist Church. Bro. Allman married at the age of 25 years. Two sons and two daughters survive him. They are Mrs. J.I. Hudgens of Guntersville, Route 2; Mrs. C.O. Horton of Horton and Messrs. Dwight L. and J.F. Allman of Oneonta. Bro. Allman spent the latter years of his life on Sand Mountain and Straight Mountain. He came into this community a few years ago but left his influence behind him. The church at Straight Mountain feel very deeply the loss of him whom the Lord has called home. The funeral services were held at Dearman's Chapel Cemetery where his body awaits the call of the Master.
