Age 64, of Pittsburgh, after a long battle with cancer passed away at home surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, November 24, 2021.
Donny was preceded in death by his parents, Mona (Rodden) and Tony Rivoli, his surrogate parents, Shirley and Willard Teagarden, and his brother, Tony Rivoli.
Donny was a US Army Veteran, earning both a Good Conduct Medal and a Marksman (rifle) Badge. While in the army, he served as a lifeguard, and passed on his life-guarding skills and love for the beach to his many nieces and nephews. Besides his family, the only things Donny loved more than the beach and ocean were his animals. Donny was a longtime member of Utility Workers Union of America, Local 479, and worked as a Construction Coordinator for Columbia Gas. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Arrangements by BEINHAUERS. Friends and family are welcome Monday, Nov. 29 from 2-8 p.m. at 2630 West Liberty Ave., Dormont, 412-531-4000, where a funeral service will be held Tuesday, Nov. 30 at 12 p.m., followed by full military honors ceremony. Donny will be laid to rest privately at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies. Because of his love of animals, memorial donations in Donny's memory are suggested to Animal Friends.
