Rev. Larry Lee Moore, 77 of Elizabeth City, NC departed from this earthly life on Saturday, November 6, 2021 at his residence surrounded by his loving family.

Life Celebration Services will take place on Friday, November 12, 2021 at 12:00 noon at Poole's Grove Missionary Baptist Church, Hertford, NC with Pastor Linwood Turner, Officiating. He will be laid to rest in West Lawn Cemetery, Elizabeth City, NC.
He was born the fourth of seven sons to the late Edgar Leary Moore and Armecia Turner Moore on May 27,1944 in Perquimans County, North Carolina.

Reverend Moore was reared in a Christian home and became a member of Poole's Grove Missionary Baptist Church at an early age. He received a public education in the Perquimans County School System. On December 15, 1963, he was joined in holy matrimony for fifty-seven years to Corsie Ann Price and to this union three daughters were born, whom he loved dearly.

He followed his mother's (the late Evangelist Armecia Moore), paternal grandfather's (the late Rev. Waitman James Moore, Sr.),two uncle's (the late Rev. James Edward Turner and Rev. Horace Moore) and maternal aunt's (the late Evangelist Getrude Turner Green) footsteps in serving as a minister. He attended and graduated from Shaw Divinity School at Roanoke College Institute and received a Divinity Degree in 1982. He was a member of the Roanoke Missionary Baptist Association and served as Pastor of the Saunder's Grove Baptist Church, Hertford, North Carolina and the New Piney Grove Baptist Church, Gates, North Carolina. Additionally, he served as an Associate Minister of Poole's Grove Missionary Baptist Church, Woodville, North Carolina for over forty years until his health failed. Reverend Moore was also an affiliate of the 33rd Degree Mason of the Eastern Star.

Throughout his career, Reverend Moore worked for the NC Department of Transportation briefly before eventually becoming a professional truck driver and for thirty years he transports goods along the East Coast and Mid-West regions of the United States. Upon retirement he continued to work in transportation services as a taxi driver for Moore's Taxi Service of Elizabeth City, North Carolina, which was developed and previously owned by his paternal uncles.

He leaves to cherish his memories and is survived by his loving wife: Corsie Ann Price Moore of the home; three daughters: Minister Glenda Lisa Billups (Minister Nelson Sr.) of Elizabeth City, North Carolina, Dr. Michelle Moore-Taylor (Dr. Benard) of Davidson, North Carolina, and Karen Melinda Hayes (William, Jr.) of Edenton, North Carolina; four grandsons: Andre, Antonio Jr., Nelson Jr., and Kristopher; four granddaughters: Danielle, Shayla, Sydney and Jordon; one great-grand-daughter: Harmony Elise; five great-grandsons: Deonte', Kamari, Jayden, Elijah and Isaiah; an aunt: Doris Overton Moore ( the late Waitman Moore, Jr.) of Elizabeth City, North Carolina; four brothers: Johnnie Ray (Margaret) of Elizabeth City, North Carolina, Donald Moore Sr. ( Armecia) of Williamsburg, Virginia, Jeffrey Moore ( the late Essie Moore) of Dover, Delaware, and Eddie Albert Moore, Ph.D. ( Marilyn) of Okemos, Michigan; two deceased brothers: Ernest Lee Moore and Joseph Moore; two brother-in laws: John A. Price, Sr. (Marvetta) and Samuel L. Price (Phyllis) both of Elizabeth City, North Carolina; a best friendsince childhood: Johnnie Hollowell (Yvonne) of Hertford, North Carolina, and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.

Reverend Moore was a loving husband, a precious father, an incredible grandfather, and great grandpa. He greeted you with a warm smile and possessed a great sense of humor. An avidoutdoor sportsman who enjoyed fishing and hunting, and loved to watch football, wrestling, boxing, and Western shows on television.
