Richard was born to William Burton Hamilton and Ruth Manon on March 25th 1952 in Amarillo, TX. He lived in Amarillo until his graduation from Palo Duro High School. Then he moved to Dumas in 1971 where he raised his 2 sons. He worked for KDDD for over 18 years where he was known as "5 thumbs Hamilton". While at the radio station he purchased Lock Rite and became a very skilled locksmith. He married Brenda Dixon on April 4, 1981 and they moved to Carrolton, TX for many years. After he fought his cancer for several years he and wife Brenda moved to Wynnewood where he lived out the rest of his life.
Richard had several hobbies, he loved to radio others on his ham radio, worked with electrical equipment and always had the most up to date electronics. He was a good singer and loved to sing in church. Richard loved to work out and was an avid runner.
He was preceded in death by his father - William Burton Hamilton, Mother - Ruth Manon Godfrey Frost, Brothers - Dorris Wayne and Orvie Glen Hamilton, and sisters - Nellie Ray Hamilton and Marsha Elaine Moore, father and mother in law - Clifton Ray, Sr. and Margaret Thurston Oliver Dixon, Brother and sister in law - DeWayne and Tonda Dixon, Neice - Brenda Jo Ellen Haxton, and brother in law - Merle Kimbro , Jr.
Services will be held at First Baptist Church in Wynnewood. Burial will follow at Oaklawn Cemetery in Wynnewood, OK. Services are under the direction of DeArman Funeral Home of Wynnewood. Please send online condolences to www.dearmanfuneralhome.com
