Thelma "Dee" Hunt went to her heavenly home on November 25, 2021. She was born in Haskell County, Oklahoma to Sherman and Nettie (Haire) Young on May 29, 1930. She was the youngest of seven children. She grew up in the Tulsa area and that's where she met the love of her life, Jim Hunt, at a Tulsa football game. They were married in 1953 and moved to Oklahoma City. In 1959 her son James Howard was born. Dee worked at several different Oil and Gas companies in the OKC area. Later she helped her husband and son to make both of the companies they created a success. The love of her life, Jim, died in 1998 and she continued to help her son in his business until his health prevented him from continuing. Dee loved to garden, bowl, and shop for a bargain. She was very passionate about her faith in God. Even in the last few months of her life while struggling with her own health problems she was always eager and willing to help anyone in any way she could. She was a great sports fan of OU football and the OKC Thunder. She used to joke she spent many years going to and watching 3-4 football games every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. She loved spending time with her family, friends, and her son. She is survived by her son, Jim Howard; nieces, Julie Peacock, Christy Grant, Cindy Smith, Elaine Walters, Linda Twist, Janet Hunt, Margaret Young; and nephew, Grady Clanton. A visitation for Dee will be held Friday, December 3, 2021 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Bill Merritt Funeral Service, 6201 Northwest 39th Expressway, Bethany, OK 73008. Following the visitation will be a graveside service at 2:00 PM at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, 8701 Northwest Expressway, Oklahoma City, OK 73162.
