On April 22, 2017 John(Jack) Jacob Schick, Jr. went peacefully to be with the Lord and his wife Virginia. He was born Dec. 22,1923 in Detroit, Mi. the son of John(Jack) Jacob Schick, Sr. and Grace K. (Pohner) Schick. He graduated from Denby High School, Detroit, Mi. in June of 1941. He enrolled that fall in the engineering program at the University of Detroit.

After WW II began he enlisted in the U. S. Navy and served his country in the Pacific as an aviation machinist mate from March of 1943 to March of 1946. After returning from the war to the states, he reenrolled at U of D. During this time he met the love of his life, Virginia (Ginny) D. Paton, at a Halloween party in 1948. They were wed at Blessed Sacrament Cathedral in Detroit on May 14, 1949. Together they had one son, John(Jack) K. Schick, the following April. They bought a home and lived in St. Clair Shores, Mi. and Jack began his long career in industrial sales during this time.

Jack loved family, sports(particularly golf), traveling, and playing the stock market. He was a longtime member of Gowanie Golf Club, Mt. Clemens, Mi. In 1963 he and Ginny built a home in Grosse Pointe Woods where they lived the remainder of Ginny's life and Jack lived until 2011. He then moved to East Lansing to be with his son and his family and lived at Independence Village in East Lansing. Jack was preceded in death by his wife Virginia and his parents John J. Sr. and Grace and is survived by his son Jack(Jennifer) Schick, his grandsons, Colson, Carson and , his sister Druscilla Ross, brother Robert Schick, niece Carole and nephews Craig, Robert, Robert, Michael and William as well as a number of grand nieces and nephews.

Visitation, Thursday April 27, from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home, with a Rosary at 7:30 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held Friday April 28, at 11 a.m. with visitation one hour prior at St. Thomas Aquinas Church, East Lansing.
