Suzanne Kay Hartzell Wallace passed away Wednesday, December 10, 2003 at her home in Casstown surrounded by loving friends and family.

Suzy was born on October 30, 1952 to Thomas H. and Helene (Craig) Hartzell of Troy who survive.
Suzy was married to Richard W. Wallace on June 30, 1973 and together they had three loving children, Thomas Howard and his wife, Dawn; Elizabeth Suzanne and her husband, Mark Staley and Sally Ann. All reside in the Casstown area. Suzy is also survived by sister, Kathy and husband, Dr. Joe Thorpe of Montgomery, Ohio; sister, Julie and husband, Dr. Hermann Kaebnick of Anchorage, Kentucky; brother, Thomas C. Hartzell of Troy; father-in-law and mother-in-law, C. William and Josephine Wallace and brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Mel and Krista Black of Centerville, Indiana. Also surviving her are nieces Emily and Molly Thorpe, Kara Black and Leah Hartzell; nephews, Eric Thorpe, Bryan, Stephen and Robert Kaebnick and John Hartzell. Granddaughter, Katelynn Elizabeth Wallace, daughter of Tom and Dawn was born in Jujly of this year.

Suzy was active in her church, Cove Spring, and was a former Sunday school teacher. Suzy was also a longtime 4-H advisor with the Elizabeth Township Livestock Club. She was the Secretary to the Zoning Board and the Board of Zoning appeals in Elizabeth Township for many years. She also served on the Miami East Board of Education and was extremely proud of her adopted school.

Suzy was a 1971 graduate of Troy High School and also graduated from Morehead State University. Suzy was also a former board member of the Hartzell Companies in Piqua, Ohio.

Friends may call at Baird Funeral Home, Troy, Ohio from 4-8PM Friday, December 12. A service will be held at 10:00AM Saturday, December 13, 2003 at Cove Springs Church with Pastor Paul Calvert officiating. Burial will be in Casstown Cemetery, Casstown, Ohio.
