Mrs. Michael "Mickie" Yvonne Mitchum Chapman, age 85, of Maiden, passed away Wednesday, November 24, 2021 at Atrium Health-Lincoln. Born November 8, 1936 in Lincoln County, she was the daughter of the late Roy Mitchum and Norma Biggerstaff Mitchum Stine. Mickie was a life-long member of Marvin United Methodist Church in Lincolnton. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Summey Chapman.
She is survived by:
Son: Clay Chapman and fiancée Lisa Lowe of Sherrills Ford
Daughter: Ceil Matthews and husband Larry of Durham
Grandson: Joseph Matthews of Efland, NC
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, November 28, 2021 at 3:00 p.m. at Marvin United Methodist Church in Lincolnton with Rev. Amy Vaughan officiating.
Inurnment will be held at a later date in the church columbarium.
The family will receive friends on Sunday from 2:00-2:45 p.m. at the church, prior to the service. The family requests that those attending wear a face mask at all times of services.
