Jane Kelley Holmes passed away October 10, 2021 in Tyler at the age of 83. She was born April 3, 1938 to Wilton and Lena Cato Kelley in Paris, Texas. She spent almost her entire life in Talco. In November 1958 she married the love of her life, Gerald Holmes, and they shared almost 60 years together until his passing October 9, 2018.

Jane attended Paris Jr. College and East Texas State College graduating in 1960 with a degree in home economics. She was a teacher for 31 years with the majority of her career spent as an elementary educator with the Talco-Bogata CISD. She retired in 1994. In 2011, Jane was given the special honor of being inducted into the Rivercrest Hall of Fame. During her retirement, Jane spent many hours helping to establish the Talco Historical Museum.

She was a lifelong member of the Talco Church of Christ until she relocated to Tyler in March 2019 to be closer to her daughter.

Jane is survived by her daughter, Kelli Perez and husband Tony of Whitehouse, granddaughter Jessica Perez of Troup, grandson John Perez of Tyler, 3 great grandchildren and sister-in-law Mary Nell Tinsley and husband Morris Jr. of Mt. Vernon.

Funeral services are set for Wednesday, October 13, 2021 at 2 pm at the Talco Church of Christ. A visitation will be held from 1-2 pm prior to the service. Burial will follow the service at the Talco Cemetery.

If desired, memorials may be made to the Talco Cemetery fund or the Talco Historical Museum.
