Lydia Elizabeth Norton, 92, of St. Pauls, passed away on November 23, 2021.

She was born on September 30, 1929.

Elizabeth was a resident at Wesley Pines Nursing Home. She was an active member of St. Pauls Community Church for many years prior to declining health.

She worked as a seamstress at the Fashion Shop in St. Pauls. Her past hobbies included cake decorating (especially wedding cakes), she was an avid reader and had strong Christian faith. Everyone knew her to be an excellent cook and she was known for her homemade biscuits and delicious chicken and pastry with homemade dressing. But her most prized contribution was using her Love and Christian beliefs to hold her family together after the early passing of her husband and children's father.

Elizabeth was preceeded in death by her husband, Walter B. Norton; her parents, Ada M. Walters and Currie Pate; and a son, Jerry W. Norton.

She is survived by a son, Charles E. Norton (Lorraine); her daughters: Patricia N. Butler (Howard), Catherine Beni (Joseph), and Sharon N. Martin (Marvin); ten grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and many dear friends.

The Norton family extends great gratitude and appreciation to all staff at Wesley Pines for their excellent care and support these past three years.

The graveside services will be held at Gardens of Faith Cemetery, Hwy 301 North, Lumberton, NC 28358.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Wesley Pines Retirement Community, 1000 Wesley Pines Road, Lumberton, NC 28358.

The family is in the care of Boles - St. Pauls Funeral Home.
