Obituary of Patricia Rice

Mrs. Patricia Rice, age 74 of Columbus, Georgia passed away on November 19, 2021. A visitation for family and friends will be held at 10 a.m. at Striffler Hamby Mortuary on Saturday, November 27, 2021; the funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at Parkhill Cemetery.

Patricia was born on June 6, 1947 to the late Timothy O'Leary and Annie O'Leary (White). Patricia loved serving people and worked as a waitress in Charleston, South Carolina for 35 years. Patricia and her husband Kenneth returned to Columbus in 2012 in retirement. Patricia loved reconnecting with family and high school friends. She cherished her YMCA friends and the lunches with them. Patricia loved doing for others.

Patricia leaves to cherish her memories: her husband, Kenneth Rice of Columbus, Georgia; son, James Allen Rice (Marcia) of Donalsonville, Georgia; daughter, Tricia Garner (Craig) of Kingsland, Georgia; grandson, Sabastian Conour of Vincenza, Italy; granddaughter, Zoe Garner of Jacksonville, Florida; sister, Irma Courtney (Danny) of Columbus, Georgia; sister, Peggy Farrell (Michael) of McAlester, Oklahoma; cousin, Kathy Hollon (Gary) of Phenix City, Alabama; father-in-law; Herbert Rice of Columbus, Georgia; sister-in-law, Doris Grassi (Gus) of Bossier City, Louisiana and a host of other relatives and friends.

In lieu of flowers please donate to the Valley Rescue Mission, Feeding the Valley, Paws Humane Society or Saint Jude Hospital, because Pat loved feeding folks, loved children, and loved animals.
