Von Jr, was born in Richland, Washington, on May 28,1965. He was the firstborn child of Von Morrison Sr. and Dorothy Morrison. Von lived in the Tri-Cities during his childhood and attended Hanford High School where he enjoyed playing basketball. he graduated from Hanford High School in 1983. Several years later he moved to the Seattle area to further his career and educational ambitions.
Von was a strong believer in art and education. He enjoyed reading immensely an had an extensive collection of books on many subjects including religion and history. He loved music as well and taught himself how to play alto saxophone. He attended several schools in the Seattle area and received his Associates of Arts Degree from Shoreline Community College. He was in the process of earning his Bachelor's Degree at the time of his passing.
Von was a very hard worker and held a variety of jobs throughout his lifetime. He even opened and ran his own logistics business for a time. He was proud of the experience and knowledge he acquired through the many jobs that he held. Von was a father, a son, a cousin, and an uncle who enjoyed spending time with his extended family. He was a proud father to his only child, Dennzell Mickelson, who held a special place in his heart. Von had strong friendships with a few special people. His dear friend La-Tonia Willis was one of those special people.
Von is preceded in death by his father, Von Morrison Sr, and his sister Michelle Morrison. He is survived by his mother, Dorothy Morrison; brothers, Clarence Morrison and Lance Morrison; sister Shawna Morrison and his son Dennzell Mickelson as well as several nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life was held for Von Morrison Jr. on Friday, December 3, 2021, 11 am, at Sozo Church located at 1350 S. Rainier Street, Kennewick, WA. 99337. The service was followed with food and refreshments.
