Betty Lou Townsend Wheeler, 86, a long-time resident of Norfolk went to be with the Lord on October 8, 2021. She was the daughter of the late Samuel Townsend and Mattie Bass Townsend.
Originally from Lumberton, NC, Betty Lou moved to Norfolk where she soon met the man who would become her beloved husband. They married on January 27, 1962 and shared nearly 60 happy years together.
Besides her parents, Betty Lou was preceded in death by her dear son, Stephen R. Wheeler, Jr., all six of her siblings and many other family members. Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 59 years, Stephen R. Wheeler, Sr.,
