Michael J. "Mike" Wurm, age 55, passed away Thursday, July 25, 2019, at Mercy Hospital. He was born April 16, 1964, in Muskegon to Larry and Rosemary (Hegedus).
He was a veteran of the United States Navy. Mike was an SMT Technician for Medallion Corp for 18 years. He was a St. Mary Catholic Church member in Spring Lake and was attending St. Mary of the Woods Catholic Church in Lakewood Club. Mike enjoyed playing hockey in area adult leagues. He loved to tinker with stuff and be outdoors. Mike also enjoyed boating and snowmobiling. His loving family and many friends will miss him.
Survivors include 2 daughters, Meghan Wurm and Ashley Wurm; his mother, Rosemary Wurm; siblings, Tom (Kim) Wurm, Laura (Greg) Stancroff, Chris Wurm; his uncle and aunt, Jim & Julie Hegedus; special cousins, Tim & Shelly Reilly, Mary Beth Hegedus, Theresa Hegedus, Andrea Hegedus, Jimmy & Caitlin Hegedus; and special aunt and uncle, Connie & Larry Meade; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Larry Wurm.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Prince of Peace Catholic Church (1110 Dykstra Rd.) with Fr. Godfrey Onyekwere presiding. The Muskegon County Council of Veterans and the US Navy Honor Guard will offer military honors.
