John W. McGowan, who resided in Barling, passed away Tuesday, November 16, 2021, in Fort Smith. He was born on October 30, 1952, in Portsmouth, Virginia, to the late C.L. "Mac" and Dorothy (Griesbaum) McGowan. He was 69 years old and of the Methodist faith.
John is survived by a son, Brian of Gainsville, Florida; a daughter, Ashley of Oklahoma; a sister, Dawn Boxer of Hot Springs; three grandchildren and a special friend in Christ, Linda Cobb.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Cremation Services in Fort Smith, Arkansas.
