Funeral service for Audrey Byrd, 82, will be held at Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home on Friday, November 26, 2021 at 2 o'clock p.m. Rev. Greg Willis will officiate. Burial will follow in Pecan Grove Cemetery under the direction of Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Homes.
The family will receive visitors at Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home of Oakdale on Friday, November 26, 2021 beginning at 9 a.m. until the time of Audrey's service.
Audrey was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was a devoted wife to her husband, George, for 64 years. From their marriage, they had two girls whom she adored and loved dearly. Her grandchildren were the light of her life and she loved spending time with them. Audrey was a florist for many years and owned her own business. She was also an excellent seamstress and made most of her girl's clothes and made for her grandchildren, as well. They loved when she made them something special. Audrey loved the outdoors-hiking, paddle boating and walking the beach. Audrey will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Those left to cherish Audrey's memory include her loving husband, George L. Byrd; two daughters, Peggy Byrd and Jenny Johnson and husband, Michael; her very special sister-in-law, Eda Nell McComic; three grandchildren, Kristi Lynn Boudreaux and husband, Cheyenne, Blake Byrd and wife, Caitlyn, and Mika Johnson; and four great grandchildren, Konner Boudreaux, Klayton Byrd, Bryson Byrd, and Collins Boudreaux.
Audrey is preceded in death by her parents, Glenn R. and Carrie McComic and her two brothers, Charles L. McComic and Donald G. McComic.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers for Audrey's funeral include Michael Johnson, Konner Boudreaux, Cheyenne Boudreaux, Casey Coe, and Hunter Carroll. Honorary pallbearers will be Klayton Byrd and Bryson Byrd.
