Claude Dean Littrell, age 88, of Sedan, Kansas passed away, Thursday, November 11, 2021 at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, Kansas.

He was born on July 20, 1933 in Hewins, Kansas to Claud Littrell and Isabella (Wood) Littrell. He graduated from Cedar Vale High School in 1951. After high school he attended Independence Community College where he played football and ran track.
On June 6, 1955 he married Thelma Clydean Burch in Leon, Kansas. He joined the army and was stationed in Japan as a Military Policeman for 2 years. He and Clydean lived in Chautauqua county most of their lives. He was preceded in death by his wife on May 17, 2011.

Dean was a milk truck deliveryman, and cattle rancher most of his life, he worked on the 7UP ranch until Clydeans grandfather passed away, then he worked at the Spur Ranch many years. His final job was an oilfield pumper for Denman Oil Company for 20 years.

He was a past member of the Sedan Round-Up Club, Caney Valley Cooperative, and Farm Bureau; he also was a volunteer fireman for the Chautauqua Rural Fire Department for over 20 years. He enjoyed going to all the kids and grandkids sporting events at Sedan as well as spending time with his family.

He is survived by one son; Curtis Littrell and wife Christine of Parkerfield, Kansas; two sisters, Louise Goode and husband Jimmy of Sedan, Kansas and Marguerite Kingsbury and husband Clark of Winfield, Kansas; 4 grandchildren Dustin Littrell wife Corri of Sacramento CA, Tanner Littrell wife Mariah of Olathe, Sage Leonard wife Kendra of Elgin KS, Skylier Robertson wife Shelia of Sedan KS, and 12 great-grandchildren and many other family members.
He was preceded in death by his wife, one daughter, Caryn Leonard, one brother, Raymond Littrell, and his parents.

Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 4, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Greenwood Cemetery in Sedan with Brother Kevin Fogerty of the Chautauqua Baptist Church officiating.

Family has suggested memorials to the Chautauqua Senior Citizens Center and those may be left in care of the Dickens Family Funeral Home, 209 N. Douglas, Sedan, Kansas 67361.
