Mrs. Louis Ryan, a venerable resident of Ocean Springs, died in that place Thursday at the age of sixty years. She was greatly loved by all who knew her.

Biloxi Herald, The (MS) 1901-08-03, p.: 8

NOTE: Daughter of Charles Bellman and Pauline Ryan. Her parents were divorce on May 29, 1860.

Her grave marker shows year of birth as 1838. Bellman family records reflect her born Feb. 8, 1837. Neither year agrees with her supposed age of 60 at the time of her death.

On 1850 census records she is 2 years younger than her sister, Adolphine who was born in 1838 and 1 year older than brother, Charles, born 1841.

Then on 1860 census her father reports her 1 year older than Adolphine.

In her parents divorce case she swore under oath she was the oldest child and daughter and was born in 1837.
