John Stinson, 95, passed away at home November 19, 2021. He was born August 12, 1926 in Cadillac, Michigan to his parents, John Lynn Stinson and Mary A. (Taylor) Stinson.
Jack joined the Army Air Corp after high school graduation where he served until 1947. After his military career, he attended Western Michigan College where he majored in Engineering. He married Betty Hamilton in 1949 and settled in Irving, Texas with their three children. He spent the majority of his career at Texas Instruments.
Jack was a very active member of his community. He spent many years as Commander of his American Legion Post 218 in Irving. Jack was very musical. He played harmonica with HOOT (Harmonica Organization of Texas) and sang for Silver Serenaders, Silvertones as well as singing in the choir of his church. Currently he is a member of Woodhaven Presbyterian Church.
After retiring from Texas Instruments he became a crossing guard for 15 years where the children always loved him and his humor. He also volunteered for Baptist Benevolent and Irving Cares.
Jack lost his beloved wife, Betty Hamilton Stinson in 2011 and his only daughter, Patti Stinson Koym in 2015. He is survived by two sons, Mark Stinson, David Stinson, ten grand children and seven great grand children.
Funeral Services will be November 30, 2021. A committal service with Military Honors will take place with burial at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery in Dallas, Texas next to his wife Betty on December 6, 2021...BRFH
