Raymond James Henry
April 18, 1938 - October 19, 2021

Raymond James Henry was born in Burgaw, NC, the only child of Raymond Henry and Nora Elizabeth (Mackenzie) Henry. He left Burgaw as a teenager to discover the world - and that he did. Over the course of his distinguished military career, Raymond Henry served his country with honor while assigned to the Middle East, Europe, Asia and Africa.
Raymond broke racial barriers as the first black man to serve in the ARB's Maintenance Shop, where he learned to assemble and repair military aircrafts such as the B-52, KC-135, F-100 and many other notable aircraft. In his spare time, he loved being outdoors, spending time with his family, and fishing.

Raymond was extended an offer to appear on a public television platform to discuss life living in the Middle East as an American.

Raymond was a kind, humorous, and loving husband to his spouse Dorothy, as well as an amazing and wise father to their daughters Gwendolyn, Natalie, Ramona and Tedra. He was also very loved and cared for by the many people who he encountered throughout the world.

He will be greatly missed as he was an asset to this world.
Raymond is survived by his spouse, daughters, grandchildren, cousin Cathy, John Henry (Pat) and will be remembered by a multitude of people who loved him.
