CARENCRO ~ Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 27, 2021 at a 12:00 p.m. Liturgy of the Word in Evangeline Memorial Gardens Chapel in Carencro for Whitney Brown, age 58, who passed away Sunday, November 21, 2021 at Lafayette General Medical Center.

Private inurnment will be held at a later date. The Rev. Edward Duhon, pastor of Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church, will officiate at the services.

Mr. Whitney Brown was born on June 10, 1963 to the union of Whidney and Annie Lee Brown. He was a 1982 graduate of Northside High School where he played football. Upon graduation, he married his beautiful bride, Anita, and they have celebrated over thirty-five wonderful years of marriage.

Whitney was a hardworking man and was employed with Taylor International as an offshore chef for over thirty years. He loved to cook, watch Law & Order, enjoyed bike rides. He had an infectious personality and a smile to match, and anyone who knew him instantly had love for him. Whitney had so much pride for his children and grandchildren and his legacy will live on in each of their hearts.

Survivors include his wife, Anita Marie Ledet Brown; two sons, Korey James Brown, and Joshua O'Niel Scott (Rilette); one daughter, Whitney Elaine Brown (Johnathan Reed); his parents, Whidney and Annie Lee Brown; his grandchildren, Aaliyah Freeman, Juquan J'Myrie Green, Dereon Janae Green, and Terriana Tajne' Anderson; three beloved siblings; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.

He was preceded in death by a precious daughter, Alexias Danine Brown; and three siblings, Joseph Phillip Brown, Joseph Earl Brown and Erica Brown.

A rosary will be prayed at 11:00 a.m. Saturday in the funeral home.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 10:00 a.m. Saturday until service time on Saturday.
