Even though his last weeks were spent at High Point Medical Center, he continued to touch the lives of others, whether through his infectious smile, detailed descriptions of the food, sharing stock tips, or lightening the mood with his confirmation, that the scans showed the alien he always knew was inside him.
Born April 7, 1960 in Catawba County, North Carolina to the late Albert Lloyd Arney and Irene Reinhardt Arney. He found his expertise in engineering early on as he earned his Bachelor of Engineering Technology at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and later established Visual Automation Incorporated.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Tommy Carter.
He is survived by his wife, soulmate, and best friend, Connie Hollar Arney; Daughter, Jessica Kelly (Jeffery, of High Point); Son, Alan Arney; loyal Lhasa Apso, Buffy; Brother, Andrew Arney (of Newton); two sisters, Anita Hendren and Linda Settlemyre (of Newton); Grandson, Corey Kelly (of High Point); Granddaughter, Courtney Kelly (of High Point); two nieces, four nephews, and many cousins.
The Viewing will be held Sunday, November 28, 2021 from 1:00-1:45 p.m. followed by Funeral Services at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Memories at Catawba Memorial Park, Hickory, NC, with Ryan Robertson officiating.
Burial will follow at the gravesite.
