Marcus A. Taylor departed this life on Saturday, November 20, 2021 at his residence.

Marcus was born on September 30, 1958 in Decatur, Illinois the son of Leanna Taylor and Nathaniel Echols.

Marcus was known to the community as "MT".Marcus was educated in Decatur Public Schools.

He was employed at Wagners Casting Company for 25 years and was a bus driver for First Student.

In the 1990's Marcus had a desire to start his own business in communications. He owned and operated MT&T Page providing phone, internet and cable services. He also worked on cars, cell phones and was a builder of just about anything. He was an opportunist when it came down to generating income.

He was a member of Living Word Evangelistic Church where he sang in the choir and was always willing to lend a hand when needed.

Marcus leaves to cherish his loving memories: his mother, Leanna Taylor; children: Marcus (Jaimie)Taylor, Jr., Seclestine (Darryl Foster Jr.) Taylor, Genece B. (Mario) Stewart, Akea Taylor and DaMarcus Taylor; fiancée, Rosetta Davis; brothers: Brian Taylor, Nathaniel E. Freeman; sister, Charlotte Walker; 11 grandchildren along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, sister, Cynthia Echols, brothers, Kenneth, William and Eric Echols, maternal and paternal grandparents, aunts and uncles.
