Michael Wayne "Baggy" Cross was born on August 20, 1958, the son of Gerald Sutton and Judy Irene (Umstattd) Cross. He passed away peacefully at his home in Appleton City, Missouri on November 14, 2021. He grew up in the Appleton City area, where he graduated from Appleton City High School in 1976. Shortly after graduation, Mike began working in Gillette, Wyoming, for a short stint. He then began a career as an auto mechanic at Cross Service that he ran and operated from 1979-2014.

Mike married Raejean Thomas in 1994 until her untimely death in 2002. They shared one daughter, Becky. His family was the most important thing in his life, especially his grandchildren. Mike earned his nickname "Baggy" in high school because he was as tough as Alligator Baggies. He spent countless hours attending sporting events, playing catch, and hauling the "Hillian" youth to Caseys, where he never refused any request. Apart from this, he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends at "the pit" and the lake, where he cherished many family vacations. His passion was attending the races, and especially the Wheatland racetrack. Along with this, he spent many happy hours riding his motorcycle. Mike was someone who enjoyed life, was easy going, and easy to talk to, never meeting a stranger. He will be deeply missed by his many family members and friends.

Mike was preceded in death by his father, Gerald Sutton Cross.
