She received her early childhood education in the Hamilton County Public School System where she attended James A. Henry Elementary and Howard Middle. She graduated in 1964 from Howard High School.
At an early age she professed her faith to Jesus and joined Second Baptist Church under the pastorate of Rev. Paul A. McDaniel who later married her and her husband Roosevelt in 1968. She carried herself as a hardworking and diligent employer for Erlanger, Dupont and Eckerds Pharmacy as a clerk when she retired.
Sandra spent her life being a prideful wife of 53 years to Roosevelt Gunn and mother to her two
sons, Corey and Eric Gunn.
She was a nurturer to many and taught all to say "I love you" before getting off the phone. When you got a phone call from Sandra, you knew it was probably about a birthday reminder to call their loved ones to wish them a Happy Birthday.
After retirement, she enjoyed traveling with her grandchildren and husband, facilitating reunions, crafting and baking especially sweet potato pies for the Thanksgiving holiday. Her favorite color was blue and her favorite pastime was watching the Game Show Network or Food Network.
Her heart was so big that she would do anything for anyone. She loved her family! She had a special bond with each one of them.
