Betty Jane Middleton, age 89, of Henderson, KY, passed away at 8:58 p.m. on Monday, November 22, 2021 at her home under the care of St. Anthony's Hospice. Betty was born on April 8, 1932 daughter of George and Matilda Bohnenstiehl.

She married Joe Middleton, Jr. on December 17, 1949 at E&R Church in Marine, IL. With her husband's career, Betty and Joe were often transferred throughout the tri-state. She was able to make a home in every community; dear friends were made along the way and remained in contact throughout the years. Betty was a member of Homemaker's Association for over 50 years. Betty retired from Eaton Corporation in 1992 after 20 years of employment in data processing. She was a faithful woman who loved the Lord, and Christian fellowship was very important to her. She was a former member of Robards Christian Church, Maggie Sandefer Missionary Circle, and Christian Women's Club. Her current church member was with First Christian Church in Evansville, IN. She was a very active and involved mother and grandmother. Sporting events, dance recitals, academic achievements, school plays, or the Sunday school classroom; she was always there.

In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her brothers Everett and Earl Bohnenstiehl.

She is survived by her husband of 72 years Joe N. Middleton of Henderson, KY; daughters: Marilyn Watson and her husband Ronald of Henderson, KY, Nancy Keach and her husband Randy of Libertytownship, OH, and Patti Connaway and her husband Marc of Chandler, IN; son Wayne Middleton and his wife Cindy of Covington, LA; 5 Grandchildren: Joel Watson (Megan), Jacob Keach (Ashley), Brian Connaway, Allen Middleton, and Kevin Middleton; 3 step-grandchildren: Kelly Buchanan (Nick), Jamie Rodriguez, and Kristina Govert (Chad); 12 great-grandchildren, 9 step-great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to Betty's Life Celebration from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. on Friday and on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the service time at Benton-Glunt & Tapp Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 27, 2021 at the funeral home with Reverend Jerry Clark officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Henderson, KY.
