Vickie Rhodes Smith, age 67, in the early morning hours of November 22, 2021 with her loving family by her side, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Cancer may have won the battle, but Vickie won the war. Vickie was preceded in death by her father Bobby Rhodes, grandchildren- Kimberly, Thomas & Grayson Goodfellow; and great niece, Melissa Dawn Whitley.

Vickie was a longtime member of Faith Free Will Baptist Church in Goldsboro, NC where she received her salvation and was baptized. She was also a NC licensed Real Estate Broker for over 40 years. Operating Our Towne Realty, she was a land developer who was responsible for developing several subdivisions in Wayne County,

Vickie was a hardworking, determined, strong-willed person who would not give up until she reached her goals in life. Some of her most precious moments in life were watching her daughter play the piano and her son-in-law and grandchildren singing and serving the Lord. Vickie was the owner of Keith Smith Racing, and some of her biggest thrills included seeing her son Keith, race in the NASCAR late model division at Southern National Speedway seeing his accomplishments in winning several awards and races. Just him being a strong competitor excited her so much.

Her biggest desire in life was knowing that her family and friends were saved so she could reunite with them one day soon. She was so proud of granddaughters Kayla, Kylie & Kristen who are serving the Lord at the LOGOS Theater at the Academy of Arts Ministries in Taylors, SC. She also loved spending time with her younger grandchildren Garrett and Kara.

She loved her husband, Keith, the love of her life beyond words. She was so thankful and blessed for the care that he provided for her over these last several months. Vickie also loved her parents dearly as well as her sister and brother.

Vickie is survived by husband - Harvey Keith Smith of Rosewood, children - Melissa Goodfellow (husband Gary) of New Bern and Keith Smith II of Rosewood; mother Peggy Webb Rhodes of Goldsboro; grandchildren - Kayla, Kylie, Kristen, Garrett & Kara Goodfellow (all of New Bern); sister - Linda Taylor (husband Gary) of Snow Hill; brother Timmy Rhodes (wife Suzanne) of Newport, NC; nieces and nephews - Heather Whitley, Jennifer Tingen, Stephen Rhodes, Stephanie Myers, Lora Beth Smith, & Jason Phelps; several aunts, cousins, great nieces and nephews, and dear friends; and long-time special friend Clara James.

A service to celebrate Vickie's life will be held Wednesday November 24, 2021, at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home & Crematory in Goldsboro with Dr. Dann Patrick, Dr. Gary Goodfellow, and Rev. Christian Powell officiating. Burial will follow in the Smith Family Cemetery, 247 Adams Road Seven Springs. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM at the funeral home.
