Anna Jane Isbell Andrews passed away peacefully at her home in Yreka on November 17, 2021. She was born August 23, 1933, in West, Texas to Alfonso J. Fuglistaler and Lela Fuglistaler Bailey. Anna was raised in Texas but spent some summers up Miners Creek with her dad.

When Anna was 15, she met Jimmy "Buddy" Isbell and then soon married. She leaves four children – Jim Isbell (Sherma), Jerry Isbell (Linda), John Isbell (Marcia) and Janie Rider (John). An infant son, William David, preceded her in death. She also leaves seven grandchildren – Brett Isbell, Clint Isbell, Ty Isbell, Kale Isbell, Raylene Lang, Bradley Isbell, and Brian Delong - and 17 great-grandchildren.

Anna worked at various jobs including Signal Depot in Sacramento and Shell Oil Company in Morgan City, Louisiana. Anna and Buddy moved their family to Etna in 1963 and Anna spent the remainder of her years in Siskiyou County. Buddy passed leaving Anna to provide for their four children. She worked as the Etna High School librarian and unofficial counselor and then was a bookkeeper in the evenings to provide for her family. Eventually she got a job as a librarian at the Siskiyou County Library in Yreka. During this time, Anna received her high school diploma and librarian certificate; she was acting department head for the County library system prior to her retirement.

Anna loved her family and spent many hours listening to Buddy play music, watching her children and grandchildren play sports and crocheting afghans for various family members. Anna was an avid reader, loved the challenge of a good crossword puzzle and enjoyed gardening in her yard.

A celebration of life will be held at the Etna Cemetery on Friday, December 10, 2021 at 2:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in memory of Anna Andrews to your local school, city or county library in honor of Anna's love of books. A reception will be held at Jim's home (607 Kellems Lane) following the celebration.
