He was born on January 30, 1940, in Kentucky and was a son of the late John Henry Harris and Florence Merritt Harris.
Jerry worked as a warehouse manager for AT&T for 23 years and was a veteran of the United States Army.
His first wife, Linda Mae Wood Harris, preceded him in death in 1988.
He is survived by a son, Jerry Alton Harris Jr. of Spokane, Wash.; a stepdaughter, Joyce Fox of Luray; a brother, Terry Dalton Harris of Kansas; and three grandchildren, Aiden Harris, Jennifer Atwood and Victor Atwood. He was preceded in death by a brother, Kenneth Harris.
He was married to Mary Ann Brubaker from 1989 to 1995.
The family will receive friends 10:00am Friday, Nov. 26, at the Luray Seventh-day Adventist Church with afuneral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. on by Pastor Richard Rechichar. Burial will be in the Beahm's Chapel Cemetery in Luray, with military honors by the VFW Comer-Jones Post 621.
