Kevin Patrick Mahoney, 72, of Catonsville, MD passed away Sunday, November 21, 2021, after a years-long illness. He is pre-deceased by his loving wife, Ernestine Crawford Mahoney.
Kevin was born in Baltimore, MD March 11, 1949 to the late William J. Mahoney and Dorothea V. Mahoney and was one of eight children.

He is survived by his daughter, Tara Mahoney-Cobb (husband, Barry), his son, Darren P. Mahoney, stepdaughter, Tina Smith, five grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.

He is pre-deceased by his sister, Maureen V. Canion. He is survived by his four brothers: John D. Mahoney (wife, Janice), Brian J. Mahoney (wife, Audrey), Terence J. Mahoney, William M. Mahoney (wife, Gina); and two sisters: Sheila A. Geiser (husband, Louis), and Eileen E. Weber (husband, Peter).

Kevin also has many loving Mahoney and McCabe cousins, nieces, and nephews in Maryland, Pennsylvania, and Florida.

Kevin attended St. Mark grade school and was a 1967 Catonsville High School graduate. He worked many years as a surveyor for the State of Maryland, the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority and, lastly the WagmanConstruction Co.

As a youth he was an avid baseball player and excellent catcher. In retirement he took up model trains, dedicating an entire room in his home to displaying them. He was a wonderful artist, doing much of the detailed design of the train garden himself. He was a staunch Baltimore Orioles fan, but when it came to football it was the Pittsburgh Steelers all the way.

Private services will be held at a later date.
Donations in Kevin's memory may be made to the St. Mark Athletic Association, St. Mark Church, 30 Melvin Ave, Catonsville, MD 21228. Kindly designate the funds to the William J. Mahoney Memorial Fund, named in Kevin's father's honor. The fund provides financial assistance to parish youth who need help covering the costs of participating in parish sports programs.
