Mr. Johnny Dwight Johnson, 65, died suddenly Monday (November 22, 2021) at Memorial Health in Savannah.

He was born February 2, 1956 in Waycross to the late James A. Johnson and Lillie Grace Rudd Johnson. Johnny graduated from Ware County High in 1973. He began working at the Ware State Prison and then transferred to the prison in Jesup. Johnny retired from the Federal Correctional Institute in Jesup as a correctional officer after 20 years of service, and he attended First Baptist Church in Jesup.

Survivors include one daughter, Jessica Klontz (John) of Florida; three siblings, James H. Johnson of Waycross, Jerry E. Johnson (Debra) of Hoboken, and Janis Rowell (David) of Blackshear; and nieces and nephews, Spring Parsons, Wendy Miller, Scarlett Rowell, Matthew Rowell, James Johnson and April Johnson.

A graveside service will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday (November 24, 2021) at Little Utah Cemetery in Axson.
