He was an Austrian songwriter and musician. Nearly all of his more than 350 compositions are related to the viennese habits – espacially the dialect.
Grown up in Ottakring (16th district) and after finishing school he made an aprenticeship as shoemaker. But he always felt – music is more interesting. Beside his mainjob he performed as band-leader for the band „The Sunset-Four".
Afterwards he prolonged his career alone. The song „Ana hot imma des Bummerl" (translation: someone always has the bummer" is widely known. In the 90s he wrote and sang the song: Her mit meine Henna – der Gockala is do (translation: where are the chickens – the chicken keeper is here).
He was well known in the society of Austria – he started even a career as actor and can be seen in many TV series as guest star.
He received several awards – one of them the Gold Medal of Honor for Services to the State of Vienna.
