He was educated in Woburn, MA, graduating from Woburn High School* class of 1966. He later went on to receive his Associates Degree in Architectural Engineering from Wentworth institute.

A veteran of the Vietnam War, Ron served honorably in the U.S. Navy from 1968 until 1972 as a Seabee and was a recipient of the National Defense Service Medal, The Vietnam Service Medal with Bronze Star Device, The Meritorious Unit Commendation, The Vietnam Campaign Medal, The Republic of Vietnam Armed Forces MUC with Gallantry Cross and the Sharpshooter Medal.

Ron was employed by Stone and Webster for fourteen years and later worked as the Assistant Facilities Manager for fifteen years at Middlesex Community College in Bedford, MA

He was a member of the Island Pond Baptist Church and volunteered at the Pregnancy Care Center as a member of the Men's Ministry. The "Ultimate Handyman" Ron enjoyed working around his home and there was nothing that he couldn't fix.
