Charles Larry Chandler, 79, passed away on Nov. 21, 2021 in VA Northern Indiana Health Care Systems, Marion. He was born in Madison, Indiana on Feb. 6, 1942 to the late Guy E. and Wilma (Banks) Chandler.

In 1960, Charles enlisted in the United States Army until 1963. He then served with the United States Army Reserve from 1963-1966. Charles also served with the United States Air Force and retired in 2002, after serving for 42 years. Charles was able to receive his GED during his service in the military. On Aug. 30, 1963 he married Robena (Fry) Chandler and she survives. He enjoyed playing cards, gambling, golfing and traveling. He especially loved spending time with his kids, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and looked forward to their visits. He was extremely fond of his two dogs, Theresa and Gizmo and spoiled them with treats and toys.

Charles is also survived by his children, David W. Chandler, Florida; Kevin Lee Waine Chandler, Gas City; Colleen "Lynn" Denniston, Gas City; brother, Jimmy Chandler, Worthville, Kentucky; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.

He is also preceded in death by his brothers, Donald Chandler and Michael Chandler; sisters, Sherry Beach, Mary Lou Craig, Linda Luhn.

Graveside services with military honors will be held on Dec. 10, 2021 at 2:00pm in Marion National Cemetery, 1700 East 38th Street, Marion, Indiana with Pastor John Clark officiating. Owen-Weilert-Duncan Funeral Home, Gas City Chapel, Gas City Indiana was entrusted with the arrangements.
