Mary Hazel Elkins Robbins, 90, of Lisbon went home with the Lord on November 22, 2021 at Bladen East Health and Rehabilitation Center. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joel B. and Frances Register Elkins, her husband Edward Robbins, four sisters, Margaret Beard, Dorothy Elkins, Betty Elkins, and Barbara Sue Stewart, and two brothers JB Elkins and Dewey Elkins. Left to cherish her memory are son Jody Robbins (Sandra) of Lisbon, daughter Ann Robbins Daniel (Dave) of Elizabethtown, sister Sara Edens (Larry) of Wilmington, four grandchildren Alex Daniel (Laura), Jason Daniel, Josh Robbins (Taylor) and Kaleb Robbins, and two great grandchildren William Daniel and Lucas Daniel.
Mary was a remarkable, strong, hardworking lady. She loved the Lord, her family and her church, Lisbon Baptist Church. Mary was raised on a farm and married a farmer. Together they raised two loving children. She worked in her earlier years for Fowler Simmons. When not working, Mary loved to study the Word of God, canning vegetables, and working in her garden. She also enjoyed crocheting and decorating for church events.
Mary left a legacy of generosity and deep compassion that will live on in all the lives she touched.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, November 24, 2021 at 2 pm in the Mt. Horeb Cemetery in Council. Rev. Mark Creech will be officiating the service.
