Obituary for Kenneth William "Bill" Myers
Kenneth William (Bill) Myers born March 11, 1941 in Berkeley County was the son of Kenneth and Sarah Miller Myers. He died November 11, 2021.
A graduate of Musselman High and Shepherd University with a degree in Business Administration, Bill held several managerial positions with Double Day Publishing, Musselman Fruit Processing, and Corning Glass Works. He then established Myers Nationwide Insurance Agency.
Bill is survived by his wife of 56 years, Ruth Olean Myers, daughters Elizabeth Mars of Seattle, WA and Carrie Myers (wife of Matthew Gambino) of Winchester VA, two sisters, Sally Banks and Carolyn Pope (husband Gary) as well as a number of nieces and nephews. He was very close with his nephew, Dr. Kenneth Banks, who was a great help to Bill in later years.
Bill loved his family, fishing, hunting, boating, traveling, and cooking. He enjoyed spending time at the beach where he could combine fishing and napping, his two favorite pastimes. His laugh was infectious! Thanks to the care of his family, especially his wife Ruth, Hospice, and his dedicated caregivers, Bill was able to pass away at home, wrapped in love. It was a peaceful ending to a life well lived. We could not have asked for better, only longer.
Interment will be private for family only. A celebration of life will be held at a later time. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Panhandle, (hospiceotp.org/donate-now) or to Michael J Fox Foundation (michaeljfox.org/donate).
